Range Rules, Terms & Conditions


All Federal, Provincial & Local Firearm Laws Must be Obeyed at all times.

Everyone Must Follow the Basic Rules of Firearm Safety at all Times:

  • Assume ALL FIREARMS ARE LOADED.
  • Control the Muzzle. Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to shoot or destroy.
  • Trigger finger must be straight and off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you are ready to shoot.
  • See that the firearm is unloaded - PROVE it safe.
  • Point the firearm in a safe direction.
  • Remove all ammunition. Remove magazine AND clear the chamber.
  • Observe the Chamber
  • Verify the feeding path
  • Examine the bore.

General Range Rules:

  1. All persons using the ranges must successfully complete the range safety briefing.  Members must successfully complete  the range safety course.
  2. Shooters must put on eye and hearing protection prior to entering the range and keep it on until they exit.
  3. Range 519 Inc. recommends using in ear plugs in addition to over-the-ear headphone style hearing protection.
  4. Expectant mothers are not permitted on the range at any time.
  5. In an effort to maintain a safe environment the Range Master and Range Staff must be obeyed at all times.
  6. Range Master and Range Staff have the right to inspect all firearms, ammunition and equipment.
  7. No tobacco products of any kind including vape are permitted on the range.  Food and drink are NOT permitted on the range.  Animals are NOT permitted on the range without an appointment and signing of the liability waiver.
  8. No one will be permitted on the range if they are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other intoxicating substances.
  9. No open toed shoes are allowed on the range. For your safety, it is recommended that you do not wear tank tops, shorts or high heels on the range.
  10. Always be courteous and aware of other shooters around you.
  11. Shooters under the age of 18 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times. No one under the age of 7 is permitted on the range. Minors are NOT permitted to have their own lane. A Parent or Guardian MUST stay within an arms-length of a minor at all times while on the range.
  12. If you intend to do bodily harm to yourself or others you are not permitted on the range at any time.
  13. Immediately notify the Range Staff of any unsafe practices on the range. Report any injuries no matter how small to the Range Staff.
  14. Be sure you are using the correct ammunition for your gun at all times.
    1. If you reload, you may use your own reloads in your own firearms.
    2. Reloads may NOT be used in range rental firearms.
  15. All brass, once fired, is considered “lost brass”. Shooters may only collect their personal fired brass as long as they do not disrupt the shooters around them or create a safety hazard. Please push all unwanted brass forward of the firing line.
  16. ALL HANDLING, INCLUDING CASING AND UNCASING, OF FIREARMS IS LIMITED TO YOUR ASSIGNED LANE AND BENCH ONLY.
    Firearms must remain in the booth in which they start. Do not pass any firearms between lanes under any circumstances unless the firearm is in a case.
  17. All firearms must be pointed down range at all times. Down range is defined as the area within the backstop, including when the firearm is being cased or uncased.
  18. All firearms must be cleared, and securely encased before removing them from the firing line.
  19. Handling of loaded firearms in the lounge or classroom is prohibited. NO AMMUNITION at any time IN CLASSROOM.
  20. If any problem should occur with your firearm while on the firing line, leave the jammed or malfunctioning firearm pointed down range on the bench in the firing station, and immediately contact the Range Staff for assistance.
  21. Always check with the Range Staff if you are unsure if your firearm or ammunition is permitted. The Range Master reserves the exclusive right to prohibit any incomplete firearms (rifles and handguns without complete sights, firearms with missing or broken parts, etc.) that are deemed unsafe. Ammunition which is deemed improper for range use will be held at the Firearm Experience counter and returned when guests leave the facility.
  22. Drawing from a holster is prohibited from behind the bench.  Shooters using the range may draw a firearm from the holster ONLY under the supervision of a CERTIFIED RANGE OFFICER, INSTRUCTOR or if designated on your membership card and only under these circumstances:
    1. During designated times and events.
    2. All holsters must cover the trigger guard.
  1. Never pass a loaded firearm to another person. Place unloaded firearms on the bench in your firing station and allow the next person to pick it up and load it.
  2. Cross lane firing is strictly prohibited. Shoot only at your own target within your designated lane at all times.
  3. Ensure that approved targets are securely placed on the target backers and that they are set to the appropriate height for the shooter.
  4. Shooting forward of the firing line is PROHIBITED except  In the presence of a Certified Range Safety Officer during designated times.
  1. When shooting forward of the firing line, the muzzle shall be pointed down range at all times.
  2. Down range is defined as the area within the backstop.
  1. Only one loaded firearm is permitted at a single time. No other gun handling is allowed behind the firing line.
  2. All Rental Firearms must use range ammunition purchased from Range 519 Inc.
  3. Rental Firearms must be cleared, have a chamber indicator inserted into the breach, magazine removed, and returned using the provided Firearm Experience carrier.
  4. Firearms brought onto the property must be unloaded and in a secure case or range bag prior to entering the facility and remain there until on the firing line.
  5. It is the shooter’s responsibility to understand how to operate the firearm safely and ensure that it is in proper working order, as well as understanding all safety features prior to shooting.
  6. Upon the “CEASE FIRE” command, all shooters must stop shooting immediately clear and put down the firearm facing toward the target, and step back from the firing lane. Shooters may return to the firing lane only after the “ALL CLEAR” signal has been given.
  7. All shooting should be in a safe and controlled manner. Range 519 Inc. does not permit “dual wielding” or “two-gun shooting” at any time. No uncontrolled, rapid fire is permitted. 
  8. Damage to the facility will result in a fee and may result in termination of your membership. Damage to the ceiling and lights will result in a $250 fee and potential discharge from the range.  If you cause damage report it.
  9. Prone shooting is allowed at the discretion of the Range Master.
  10. Only authorized targets may be used and are subject to Range Master approval. No reactive targets are permitted on the range at any time. The Range Master reserves the right to prohibit any target that is deemed offensive, inappropriate, or unsafe in their sole opinion.
  11. Reloaded ammunition (other than your own personal reloads), tracers, explosive or armour piercing ammunition are strictly prohibited. Shotguns are not allowed on the range.
  1. No bi-metal
  2. No steel inserts
  3. No tracers
  4. No armour piercing
  5. No birdshot
  6. If it sticks to a magnet, it is prohibited
  7. The use of your own personal reloads is done at your own risk.
  1. All Handgun Calibers discharged from a handgun or a rifle are permitted on the range. 
  2. Rifle Calibers discharged from a rifle up to 3,600FPS are permitted on the range.
  3. Range 519 Inc. reserves the right to eject or refuse service to anyone who inappropriately handles a firearm or would potentially endanger the safety of our patrons or staff.
  4. Please ask the Range Master or Range Staff for clarification if you have any questions on the Range Rules and Regulations.


Terms & Conditions of Membership:

  1. Range 519 Inc. has a zero tolerance policy for safety infractions.  Anyone witnessed committing a safety violation will be asked to leave and will have their membership revoked.
  2. All Federal, Provincial and Local Firearm Laws along with range rules MUST be obeyed at all times.
  3. A one time initiation fee is payable upon application to become a member.  This fee is non refundable.
  4. All membership rates exclude taxes.  Applicable taxes will be applied.
  5. A family is defined as two adults with up to two children up to age 18, all residing at the same address.
  6. Annual memberships require a one year minimum commitment; Payment is due in full at time of enrolment and is non-refundable.
  7. Monthly payments require a one year minimum commitment; early termination fee of $50 applies. Terminated monthly accounts may only purchase annual memberships thereafter to be paid in full.
  8. Service discounts apply to First Responders, Active/Veteran/Retired Military. Valid ID/Credentials required.
  9. Range time is limited to 1 hour increments.  If no-one is waiting for a lane further time may be permitted until there is a wait for a lane at which point you must yield to the next member.
  10. Reservations may be made up to 3 days in advance.  Members are required to check in 10 minutes prior to their reservation.  Reservation no shows are subject to a $20 penalty or revocation of reservation privileges. Applies to Silver, Gold and Platinum memberships only and fees may apply.
  11. Membership discounts apply exclusively to Range 519 Inc. branded inventory.
  12. Memberships that include CCFR membership; If you already have a CCFR membership a year will be added to your existing membership automatically.
  13. Our facility and the plaza it is located in is a smoke free area, there is to be no smoking (vape included) on the property.
  14. Replacement access cards are $25 plus tax.  If you loose your card report it immediately.
  15. Guest passes must be purchased before a guest enters the range.  Passes can be purchased online.  Full contact information for the guests must be provided at the time of purchase.
  16. Guests MUST sign a waiver prior to entering the range.
  17. There is no limit to how many guests you may bring but you may only have two guests on the range at one time. Your guest must use your lane and you are fully responsible for every shot your guest takes.  You must remain within arms reach of your guests when on the range.  Each guest may only be a guest for a maximum of 6 times per year. After six visits they will require their own membership.
  18. Ex members may not be a guest of another member for 12 months following the cancellation of their membership.
  19. Range 519 Inc. reserves the right to accept or decline any application for membership at its sole discretion.
